【Hiroshima Speciality】Miso Hotpot Whole Oyster Senbei

Oysters are a delicacy in Hiroshima. Now, you can enjoy the oysters (whole!) caught in the ocean near Akitsu, Hiroshima, in senbei form. Made by a company called Maruichi Shoten.

As there are fewer big rivers flowing through the ocean of Akitsu, the salinity of that ocean is lower compared to others. So the oysters caught in this town are a little small, yet its flavors are rich and exquisitely delicious!

These particular senbeis taste like kaki dotenabe, which is a regional hotpot dish with oysters, vegetables, and miso based soup. Of course, a whole oyster is right on the middle of each senbei.

These senbeis pair perfectly with beer or sake. And they’re great as gifts!
